WHY, on earth is anyone wanting to purchase
a foreign mfd. tractor? All you are asking for is constant problems. Parts are very costly, if you can get them at all. Spend a few "cents" (sp?)more
and purchase an American made and SAVE many dollars in the long run.

In response to LeJos comments, obviously you have no knowledge of Deutz tractors whatsoever.I have 2 that I use on the farm and 2 that I pull all over the country. The farm tractors are a 1977 40-06 and a 1969 90-06,these are both used mercillously. You can run a 10 ft bush hog for 8 -10hrs,on 5gallons or less of fuel(no BS just fact)try that with a JD.As for parts, yes, the older tractors might have trouble finding some parts, but they usually dont need anything, just make sure the belt is good and blow out the cooling fins in the fall. And as for pulling 1957 80-05 came in 6th place at Tunica ,MS "KING OF THE HILL" out of 60 plus big cube tractors, this thing is a stock 345 CI tractor! The other is a 1972 130-06 , 450HP+,turning 3000-3500RPM,pulling in 10th gear(out of 12)very seldom beaten, while still retaining stock 345CI engine! Bottom Line, they may be foreign, they may be ugly ,but DEUTZ tractors are tough SOBs! As for the new series, they are just a SAME,with green paint, they are liquid cooled.Find an old 06 or 07 series, you can not beat them!

I'm glad you are haveing such good luck with your Deutz tractors. They've been good tractors for me too. Personally, i don't think their ugly. I kind of like the brighter spring green color they use. Deutz won a "safety award" for that color when they started useing it long ago. Because the Europeans use their tractors on the roads so much, it's considered an "easy to see" color, makeing the tractors safer on the road system. The "new" air/oil cooled and the liquid cooled Deutz tractors still use their OWN engines, with mostly SAME from the bell houseing back. In fact, Deutz engines are the engines used in the Fendt tractors! I never hear any complaints about the engines in the Fendts! Robert

Really hate to say this but there aren't any made in USA 90hp and under except some of the glorified lawn mowers. Even my work horses, late 80's Fords are stamped made in England. Last Deere I worked on was made in Germany and the one before Japan.

I'd love to buy a new USA built tractor in the 85 hp range. Unfortunately, I'm like most everyone else, I need to buy the best I can for the least I can. That means they get built where it costs the least.

In my opinion the Deutz Tractors have proven themselves many times. I have not owned one but know several who have and I know of a couple of tractors that have Deutz engines and have been around construction equipment with deutz engines. From my limited knowledge and experience Deutz can hold it own and then some. I have two AC tractors one is a 51 WD it is American made and a very good tractor. I own a 170 AC diesel It is a very good tractor. However I understand the Perkins engine is not American madeforiegn made does not always mean junk and problems. I just wish the American spirit that built AC John Deere Ford IH and many other good tractors exited today. Maybe this will help explain why someone would choose to purchase a foriegn made tractor. Other than the fact as mentioned already where is an American made tractor today?

There N. American site won't open for me, so i only have the German site, and it's in German. You won't be able to get any prices from them anyway, but you can look the models over. For the most part you can't get tractor prices off the web sites of any of the tractor companys. The Deutz tractors i've looked at lately looked very well made. Robert

Bernhard, I am doing research on Canadian Co-operative Implements, a now defeunct company that imported BM-Volvo and Deutz tractors into Canada in the 1970's. I am trying to find out the Deutz tractor they imported. All I know is the one they imported had a 106-hp diesel engine. If shown pictures of various Deutz tractors, I could probably pick the model. Please E-mail me at jetakazul@hotmail.com

I know this a year after this post, but I too am doing research on CCIL, and finding not much. I am looking for production records, specs, photographs, anything archival. If you have any information at all, please let me know. Thank you.

CCIL imported the 06 series of Deutz from what I've seen. They might have also brought in the 07,but I'm not sure. The one you are looking for is probably the 100-06. From time to time there are Co-Op tractors listed on the AgDealer.com and IronSearch.com site. Look under all of the Deutz listings and Co-Op or CCIL. There were some CCIL-Deutz brochures on eBay back before Christmas. You might also try posting over at agriville.com.
