Don't forget a bathroom, there is nothing I hate more than when I go to my shop and the minuet I get my hands greasy, Miss Jones calls. I hate when she calls because I have to walk the thirty-yard to the house and then wash before I sit on the throne.
It was too late for me to run plumbing and such so I build an old fashion outhouse.

You also need a office with bookshelves for all your antique tractor mags. and tech manuals. Don't forget the Internet hook up for ordering parts and a nice couch for naps.

Make your doors 12' wide , you won't regret it .

My shop is similar in dimension as the one you are building. I have 2 roll up doors in the front and 2 swinging doors in the back so I can drive through as Rod mentioned. The guy I bought my place from did not finish the entire shop, but one end is finished and insulated (divided into 2 rooms about 10' X 12'). It makes it nice when the weather is extreme to be able to at least take individual parts into the heated/cooled portion of the building to work on. To me, old tractors are a hobby and a hobby that I'm miserable while doing is more like work. Before anyone starts to think I'm a sissy for wanting to be comfortable, I worked the flightline in northern Michigan for almost 7 years in extreme cold and now I'm in Louisiana working the flightline in extreme heat. My next shop WILL be completely finished/insulated. When wiring, don't forget to add a couple of 220 outlets for a welder. I have cold running water so I can knock most of the grease and grime off before I go in the house--keeps Mama from raising heck. I think Rod covered almost everything else. Good luck with it!

I would make a small building in the shop with a exhaust fan for sum of the dirty dusty stuff like welding and grinding. I would install electrical out lets with 4 outlets in every box no more then 10ft apart and have electrical and air drop down cords in the center of the building. I would like to have 2 air hose out lets by every electrical outlet. A 14ft sealing would be nice sow I could use a lift to work on motor homes and stuff. Where the lift is I would have it in a drive threw bay sow I wouldn’t have to back out. A loft for storage or work shop space in part of it to.
