I think I know where there is one for sale in Pa. if I can find the add again. I have a number of an ELWOOD distributor for the 4wd aftermarket fronts. We had to get some parts for our MAssey 2805 that we converted to a 4wd tractor. What a beast, man that fwd axle does help. Email me if you want this info and I'll go searching. Good luck!

Find a factory kit off of a 1066, 1466, 1086, or 1486 tractors. All of these tractors came with an American Coleman front. And the late 86 series tractors had the Elwood fronts.

the T4-8000 light duty for field work only and
the Elwood 14,000 lb heavy duty axle

Best bet is to find a 5088, 5288, or 5488 with the MFD already on it. The MFD option was not popular on the 86 series tractors.

Would a unit off a john deere work if you could get the IH hudraulic unit to run it? I have seen very few IH units... I believe JD sold more of them, even they they are a pain to keep working properly. Not sure if this will help you, but it might be worth looking into. Good Luck

Sounds like an expensive project!

I saw one once at a farm auction, whole tractor. I'm south of you. Only one I ever saw, & i go to a lot of auctions.

Hi David, look for the model who have planetary, at the end of axle, not a big round cap. This one is cheap and not enough heavy. It's expensive to repair this one.For the transfer case ,the gear is in the transmission, that the park one. Bernard le mécano
