I am a tractor rookie and have purchased a 1948 8N. I love it. One question: Is there a part that can be put over both brake pedals so that when you step on the brakes you stop evenly? If so, is this qood idea? Thanks much for your help. Jack

Put your foot to straddle both brake pedals at once.

Not sure about the Ford but every other tractor I ever drove had a pin or lever or something to lock them together. But you need to adjust the brakes seperatly so that they will be even when depressed.

Jack unless your brakes both grab the same, locked together is not always the best thing. third party image You may think you are going to apply both brakes and one grabs before the other even with them locked together.

Don't ask how I know.third party image Gary

Ya know , I asked the same question before because I remember my Dads one Ford tractor have a device that you could swing to use both pedals evenly for when he drove on the roads . Maybe he designed it himself , I'm not sure . But eventually I will design something on my own Ford tractor .Good luck on making yours . God bless , Ken
