We bought it 9 years ago, must be atleast 22 years old, worked like new and then SMASH CRASH BANG,you guessed it,400 lb pound rock, hiding in the grass in a purchaced piece of standing hay,at the very second that i looked down to squash a blackfly.Oh well, they tell me that the 920 we are going to replace it with is much heavier built and has a sectionaly replacable cutter bar assembly heaven forbid should anything like that happen again,it will be a reasonable afforadable fix. Some days are good, some aren't so good.Lol,yep, hopefully, tomorow will be a little better.

Last night I was just discussing with my wife how happy I am to have an old New Idea Cut/Ditioner. It is slow and does not leave a laser sharp cut, but if you are working an unknown field and hit a big rock or stray fence post (hint to my neighbor), nothing breaks.

My brother-in-law wiped out a cutter bar on a JD MoCo last haying season when he hit a rock on a rental field. He has since bought a Cut/Ditioner for his new to him fields.

You might want to rethink buying a 920. I have a 930 and can't wait to get rid of it. Make double darn sure the exposed gears that come off the main gearbox are in super good shape. If not, expect to shell out some real $$$$ (the one shaft is around $500). I assume the 920 needs a 540 pto? If so, you will escape the systemic problems with the 1000 rpm system.

Pray that you never have take the first driven disc assembly apart. Chance are the CV joint is rusted tight to the gearbox preventing disassembly unless you heat it red hot. Then you will need to take the right angle gearbox apart to replace the seal that will fail soon after everything is back together since it will take a lot of heat to get it apart. Then, when you put the CV joint back together, don't clean up the rust because then you will find the splines are almost gone and you will need to replace the gearbox output shaft and the CV joint.

Just pointing out the weak points.

But ya know something.... You got 9 years from this deck, and somebody else got 11 more from it, and probably never put a part in it, and cut a lot of rock too.
The new one will want parts because it will shear the hubs, or shear the shafts. You'll only change a module, but modules add up. I found that out with the 1460 I bought last year. The old GMD77 with the same deck as your 1327 has had some discs changed, but the bar has never been opened.... knock on wood. I think the older bars were a bit more durable generally. I forget now if it's 2 or 3 shafts I put in the 1460 last year, at 300 or so per... I just don't bother cutting these stonehenge type fields anymore.
