Had the baler tech. in yesterday to figure out my Claas Uniwrap round baler. It would not stop wrapping, or cut off the plastic at the end of the cycle. Finally narrowed it down to some sensor problems. Someone had switched the plugs up on the sensors, and threw the whole system out of whack. We switched two plugs and everything started to work. The technician said that was a new one for him. I beleive this may have been why I got such a good deal. You just never know what you are gonna get when you buy used... . Kent in NB.

Good for you!
Not too many of those kicking around on the used market, I would love one. How do you find it? What kind of horsepower do you need or have in front of it. I've been looking all over the internet to find the best thing for a relativatly lower horsepower need. Cheers!

Hi Marty. I found this Claas 250 Uniwrap on Ironsearch.com and Agdealer . It is really slick to work. The bales are heavy and well packed. The technician worked with the first models and has worked for Deere, caseIH and CAT. He says you cannot plug it or make a heavier bale, and it will make a bale every time, not plug or miss like a belt baler will when the dew gets on the ground. He is not a salesman, and is repair only type of guy.Works for CAT. I have a NH8160 (90hp rating-Dyno-ed at 115) It is handling it so far. Fuel usage is gonna be high. Book calls for 110hp. Tech. guy says 140 hp works best.

Marty, go to the Claas of America website. They have pictures better than i can do. You have to go into the promo brochure and download. Vicon also has the same idea with a moving picture display. That would be in the Kverneland site. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I have been busy. Hint: If you get one of these machines, put a drop mat on it.

Yes Sir,

My newly acquired baler had to have a shield moved away from a pulley to stop a bone-chilling screetching noise, an ink-pen sized spring in an overrun clutch and had to make a new "hook" on one of the twine hammer springs. Total cost of those items were zero.

Out of the goodness of my heart, I went ahead and put in some new air-bag guide bushings to the tune of some $36.

It's a bale makin', hay eating' fool now. And I bought it on the cheap. :>)

I love hearing of easy fixes. Unfortunately, every `deal` I come across ends up being a worse case scenario.
