I live in the UK and I can tell you that It is 35hp. This can be seen in the badge the 35 stands for the horsepower and the 45 part stands for the fact that it is four wheel drive. (the two wheel drive is called a 3511)

It just happens that I am buying one next week. I think it might be just a little older but only has 330 hours. If you will email me your email address I will let you know of my experiences. I would ask that you do the same. Thanks.

I read your question with interest. I have owned a 5245 Zetor since 1984. It's a 4 wheel drive work horse. And considering all the work and abuse I've put it through it is an excellent value. Still, I thought about your question, would I buy another. I have to say a resounding "no". First and formost they aren't the bargain they used to be. They are expensive. Secondly, and the reason I would not consider a new Zetor is this. Since I've owned the tractor I've had steering, brakes and hydraulic leaks. Also, hydraulic repairs that I thought should not have occured. Most recently though, I've had a small water leak since I bought the tractor, I rebuilt the water pump with inflated prices for parts, then installed a new defective, and expensive thermostat. The tractor immediately started bulching water out the exhaust. I pulled the head and installed a new gasket. Replaced the thermostat and tried again. This time I was getting water in the oil pan as well as out the exhaust. I pulled the oil pan, the rod, piston and head. Then lifted the sleeve, thinking the sleeve seal was bad. I was astonished at what I found. The cast sleeve had a sand cast ditch about 6" long up the sleeve on the outside. It penetrated all the way into the cylinder wall just above the top of the piston with a small pin sized hole. Basically, the entire time I owned the tractor I was spraying water on top of the piston whenever the engine was running. I called Zetor management. Explained the situation, wasted my time and breath talking to them and then bought a new sleeve that should have been made good by the factory with my own money. Would I buy another, should you? Only if you like to waste your cash on an inferior product. Forget it, buy a New Holland Ford. You insist on buying Zetor. As soon as you get it home tear it down and go through the engine, hydraulics, brakes and transmissin and rear end. Put it back together after removing all the scrap metal shavings and polishing the parts, and replacing those found defective. I'm sure then you'd have a dependable tractor.

In all honesty I wouldn,t have another one up my butt. When things started getting tough, quite a few people in the area bought them. All they have done is cost us the money it would have taken to buy a better more reliable tractor. The hydralics are slow, breaks are hard to keep in them, and we have replaced both front hubs. Parts are very expensive and hard to find used. I figure thats because most guys usually end up steering them for the ditch. If I was you, which I am not, I would look for something else. And if you don't believe me come to Iowa and you will hear farmers cussing the Zetor name for miles.

I have owned a 3440 4 wheel drive tractor with a 490 allied loader on it for the last 2 years and have been very happy with it. The only problem I have had is with the tack and they fixed it under warranty The tractor is heavy and will pull much more than you would think for a 43hp tractor. I have used it on implements that I usually use my 90hp tractor on. I would buy an other one of them as they represent good value for the money. They are simple and strong and have no computer or solinoids in them

We bought a 8011 in 1977 put 3000hrs on it. We had very good luck with it. At the time it was all we could afford and it done the job for us. My Dad,s brother bought a 8011 and so did my dads nephew they had simlar good luck with them. If money is tight they could do a job for you.

It is my understanding that Deere owns part interest in Zetor. There are several dealers here in Arkansas that are selling quite a few Zetors as a secondary tractor line. They seem to be of a higher quality than some of the other European brands. If it was my money (and its not) I would go with Kubota, if I were going to buy a import.(excellent parts and usually good dealers).

They are made in Czechoslavokia [sp] Very few dealers are very cheap very high priced parts and very few parts available without ordering. And most of their work force is idle. Good Luck

I worked at a shop where an 8011 Zetor came in on trade. It sat there and sat there and sat there. A prospective customer came along, told the boss he had the four wheel drive version and had had to replace the bearings in the front end. 2 men, ten hours in the flat rate manual which is twenty in the real world and a fifty ton press. They are regarded here as one step up from Belarus and Universal which means a careful operator might do all right with them. Myself I would figure on getting better build quality, technology, parts availability and reliability out of a two banger John Deere. Your call, your money. Good luck. Tom

We have a 8011 on our dairy farm and the only problem we have encounteed is a weak hydraulic system. The thng starts without fail everytime no matter how cold the weather is. Unfortunately the hydraulics aren't up to par and we can only ever manage to get all but 6 buckets of silage fed before we have to let the thing cool down.
All in all not a bad machine though, Chris.

Stay away from Zetors!!! We have a 7045 and a 7245 (both 4x4). They are unable for any heavy work, and the engine had to be reconditioned after only 3000 hrs (and thats after careful minding of the tractors from new). My money would go on a Landini or John Deere, they are able for rough work, but it's your money, it's your choice.

I have a 60hp Zetor that Ive used and abused, with no problems. Youll have some people who hate them some who love them. Its like ford and chevy. All guys like one or the other. Get a NEW Zetor and have a happy life with it. Yea if you put antifreeze in the gas tank, or gas where your oil goes like some of thes inbreeds ,then yea, you MIGHT have a problem with a Zetor. Buy a Zetor be a leader, not a follower. If you dont youll regret it. Trust me. Youll see young Jedi.
