Hi. Hope someone can give me some advice on this. Broke a hydraulic line on my backhoe and lost a bit of fluid. I have the line off and will get it replaced tomorrow. Its a Ford 2120. 1. What type oil should I buy that's comparable with Ford 134? 2. Is it necessary to bleed the system or is it self bleeding? Thanks for any help.

Had a line made and picked up some UTF at Tractor Supply along with some speedy dry. Installed hose and looked at fluid level and it was overfull. Didn't need to add any. Boom worked great. Rechecked level and still a little overfull. Guess Ill just leave it alone as it doesn't get used much anyhow. Thanks for the input.

What color is the oil. Amber, white or black. If white or black, drain the oil and replace. As suggested, any oil meeting Ford M2C134D spec-s will work. Tractor Supply sells a premium UTF (Universal Tractor Fluid) that will work fine in a hydraulic application. Mobil 424, as previously suggested, is a much better product. It's a personal choice. Some people believe the cheapest oil is all you need. Others opt for a better product, believing oil is cheaper than hard parts. It's all about how you view things.
