The 1942 Centaur had a 3 1/4 x 4 133 cu in 4 cylinder LeRoi engine. As fr as I know, the 1942 model year was the last year Centaur tractors were made. It was not tested at Nebraska but was rated for one 14" plow or two 12" plows. It had a shipping weight of 2250 lbs. I know of two older Centaur tractors near hear that are made like a garden tractor with a riding sulky cultivator. They have two cylinder LeRoi engines.

There was a major article in "antique Power" magazine about 2 years ago, I'll look it up for you later on. Where are you at? I'd like to see it up close. I seem to recall they were associated with Leroi in some way .....Caseman

I have a Centaur that I believe to be a KV. It has a Wagner loader mounted on it. Would make a nice brother for yours. Let me know if you are interested. I can also put you in touch w/ a tractor jockey who has one for sale.

I have a 1942 Centaur and use it at antique tractor pulls. It does well in the 3000# class, lots of power! I would consider selling it for $1500.00 and am located in Western New York State. Dan Johnson

: : : I have a freind who has restored 22 tractors and now has a Centaur in his shop, but is having trouble finding specs and parts, any help at all would be most appreciated. Might even be interested in buying any available parts or complete Centaur tractors. We are from the Pacific Northwest and compete at pulls, maybe we could get together via E-Mail or at a pull. : : : : I have a 1942 Centaur and have neverheard of another ... have you?

The Centaurs were a division of Leroi Co. but once were there own company. I've seen a few Centaurs scattered about at auctions, but have never really taken a good look at one. I think there pretty rare. I've got a few specs, if your interested. ...Dug G.
