Bought a new 4 X 36 sander..

Checked around yesterday for a new 4 X 36 sander to replace the Grizzly I bought January 2nd that turned out to be junk. Discovered at Lowes that Black & Decker has revived the design of my 10-year-old Delta that is pretty well worn out. I liked that old Delta.

Lowes had a Firestorm sander priced at $74.25 (intro price?).

Saw last night that Amazon has the B&D model of the same identical sander listed for $153 and some change, plus S&H.

The only visible difference between the new Firestorm and the old Delta is the table by the disc is 1"+ longer than the old Delta table.

Went to Lowes web site and could not find the sander you bought. Could you provide the Model number? Thanks a bunch. bob farrell

It is a Firestorm FS500SA. Not all Lowe's have them and I don't think that they have them online. They must have a special in-store promotion price of $74.25. The manual was copyrighted in 2007, so this is new for B$D.

The same sander with a Black & Decker name is model BDSA100, available from Amazon for $153+ shipping.
