I"ve heard that Roger is the compressor guru, so I hope he"s still here. I just aquired a 1969 Brunner compressor and wondering if parts are still available. From what I can tell, it"s a 2-stage compressor with a casting date of 4/29/69. Model A212, Type X59DF, S/N C70D045. Has a 14" double pulley.

The motor is the heaviest 2hp, 1,740rpm, 13 amp motor I"ve ever seen. Made in England, but sold in Canada under the name Brook Electric. It"s got an 1.25" shaft with a 4" double pulley and weights about 150 lbs.

The 60 gal upright tank was made by Durham-Bush in 1969. Model V29, S/N 70D011.

Everything seems to work fine. But I"d like to track down some parts (head gasket, reeds, etc). Thanks for any advise. Bill

Many thanks Roger. Much appreciated. I'm in Ontario, but it's good to have a contact in Canada. Bill

You might try contacting Berkley Compressors in Red Deer, Alberta, as they had a fair bit of NOS Brunner stuff when I worked there in 2000.

Roger, I should have asked ... do you know anyone in Ontario that might have Brunner parts? Thanks Bill

I'll chat with the local shop I used to work at. They seem to be able to get stuff.

Ok, I have called my former coworkers, and they have given me the name of a company called Atmosphair, which I believe is in the Toronto area. Their number is 800 387 8059. I was warned that the parts prices are kind of steep ($150 for a gasket kit) so be prepared. You should also know what type of valves you are working with, since Brunner changed the valve designs in their machines several times.

Hi Roger. Just had another thought ... since I can't find an 800 number or website for Berkley Compressors. Do you know if someone there has an email address that I can use to send the particulars of my compressor, along with the parts I'm looking for? I'd like to be able to compare their prices with Atmosphair as it may be more economical to courier them from AB to me. Thanks Bill

Dorey, I don't know where you're located, but suggest you look in the yellow pages in your area for motor repair shops. While there are lots of styles and sizes of brushes, most repair shops that rewind motors will be able to fix him up. Tell him to take a (worn) brush with him to the shop, as well as all the info on the motor plate.

Roger, thanks for the lead. I see this company is in Markham ... less than 2 hours from me in London. Excellent. Their "About Us" page describes Atmosphair is the new name for Dunham-Bush when they closed the Canadian plant in 1987. Dunham-Bush had acquired Hartford Compressors in 1957, who was originally founded as Brunner Compressors. Whew ... what a family tree! Here's their website in case you need it
www.atmosphair.net/atmosphair/aboutus.html
I will contact them and find out what kind of valves are in my unit. I really appreciate the link. Regards, Bill

We have a faily comprehensive line of replacement parts for most Brunner Compressors. Valves and top gaskets are no problem for the 212

Send a request to brunnerparts@yahoo.com
