Was wondering if the Monfort family that owns the Colorado Rockies baseball team is the same family of the Monfort cattle co. out of Greely Co.????

Yes. Kenny Monfort's son is with the Rockies. Small share only. Monfort packing plant sold a couple of times. At present owned by Swift--they are talking about selling after the ICE raid last month. Monfort feed yards sold a couple of time, first to Con-ag, once to that big sausage Co.(I forget the name). Right now by some bunch of investors, I think. Feed yard is about two miles East of me. Doubt Monfort famiy has much invested in cattle related now. Sold my Monfort stock years ago.

Hi Lenray, not sure about your question, but I remember back when they hauled beef, They used to go so fast that the passing lane on the Interstate was referred to as the "Monfort Lane" Jim in N M

Yep! knew one driver that pushed it single non-stop from Greeley to edge of NY a couple of times befor they stopped that.

I always heard to stay out of the way of a Monfort truck as they were hauling "swinging" beef.
