I cannot locate the "Allison" company whose brand name is on the 6/2 amp charger. Someone borrowed it without permission and the molded plastic cover on the ammeter was missing the next time I saw it. That exposed needle will not last long, I fear. Anyone know where to get cheap 8 amp ammeter?

If ya want to fix it on the cheap.. just to make it functional.. make a plexiglass cover for it..

If it breaks.. get a generic replacement ampmeter for it.. either panel or dash..

If it's got to look original..i can't help ya..

If it looks something like this one, you may be in luck:

I have a similar 6 amp charger that has an 8 amp meter (about 2 3/8" square) and has that plastic snap on cover. The good news is a local surplus shop had a supply of these meters last time I was there. Let me know if you want that source checked out in detail.
