Found a jimmy 4 cylinder diesel and was wondering if there was any interest for them. It is locked up and I dont know the model number. What is to much to give for it? Isnt there two model numbers, 451 and 473? How do you tell them apart?

I think that the first digit is the number of cylinders and the second two digits are the size of each cylinder in cu ins.

Price is what you think it is worth to you, but bearing in mind the costs of a sleeve and piston assembly I wouldn't go much over a hundred or so dollars at the most.

The 71 series was one of the best-known in the 40's and 50's, there was a pair at Portland this year.
