I have a F/M Z 3hp with open crank shaft. The engine was found with the piston resting at
top dead center.During teardown I was able to remove the piston with out much trouble. The rings and bore look good except for the back of the bore that was exposed to the weather.Rusted real
bad.I ran a hone through the back of the bore and cleaned up the rust.Looks good but still some very heavy pitting. What would be the standard piston to bore clearance and what can I get away with at the back of the bore?.It doesnt look like the bottom ring will make it to the pitted area. Also what type/weight of grease/oil should i use on the babbit main/rod bearings. Thanks in advance.Ted
