I have an engine I believe to be an Economy. The serial number plate has been damaged. It does have 2 1/4 HP , 600 RPM and Sn. 48663. I need to know how the cam timing lines up with the crank I can see the timing mark which appears to be a large arrow on the cam gear but the only thing I see that could be anyting close on the crank gear is a tooth that appears to have been damaged slghtly with a coule of hash marks on it. Thanks for any help identifying this engine or getting the cam timed properly.

www.hitnmiss.com has manuals listed for the Economy's, and can probably help you with your problem. I think they were timed to spark at TDC, seen beveled teeth and dotted teeth, or flywheel marks that line up a certain way. Keep us informed and good luck!
