Did Ford Motor Company ever make an industrial or stationary engine using an 8BA or similar flathead V-8?

Hi Folks,
Does anybody know in what car they used the ford 170GF engine?
I have a Hobart welder with such an engine but somebody swiped the distributor and now I can't find any spares.
Here in Namibia they look at you with big eyes if you ask them for spares of that engine.
Any clue what other engine's distributor might fit??
Any help would be greatly appreciated

In 1950, a travelling hammermill on a truck chassis came to our farm to grind feed. It had a Forn V-8 flathead driving the hammermill. A control panel with choke, key starter, fixed position throttle and big tachometer. As I remember the rear bell housing had a clutch lever out the side.

Sure did, its been awhile since I've seen one but remember one in the late 50's, early 60's, running an ice chipper/blower that would take 100# blocks of ice and chop them up and blow the "snow" atop loads of produce to keep them cold on the way to market. This was BTK (before Thermo Kings)

Thanks for the information Ollie, maybe some one else can come up with more info. There is a man about 30 miles from here that has a portable power unit built by his ganndfather in the 40's. They used two 85 hp v-8 engines, transmissions and truck rear ends to drive a flat belt pulley. The unit is mounted on a 34 ford truck for mobility, a real nice running unit. They take it to the shows around here. Thanks again.
