I have a two cylinder inverted (up-side down) 10 Hp. Dennison engine built by Cook Motor Co. of Delaware, Ohio. I am looking for any information or advertisements on this company. You can see a couple pictures of the engine at my homepage.

I have a 40 hp twin cylinder Cook Engine. Years ago I took a picture of the building in Delaware where the engines were built. I also have a photo of the floor assembly crew with an engine. A number of years ago King Books of Radnor, Ohio sold a factory catalog which showed pictures of all the Cook engines built at the time along with specifications.

My Cook engine runs off natural gas. It is governed by a Pickering governor which the Cook Company installed on the engine for a test and it was left there. Ignition is by hot-shot battery followed by the use of a Dixie magneto. The engine is lubricated using a Detroit lubricator. It has outside valve lifters and ten inch diameter pistons. The engine originally generated DC current for street lights and also ran a line shaft for pumping water. I have owned the engine since 1967.
