Hello Paul, on some engines it is neccessary to reduce the size of the gas orfices in the intake valve body when switching from natural to propane fuel. Usually, for idle speed operation reducing the volume of allowable gas flow is the key to smooth running. A surge (accumlator) tank installed between the fuel pressure regulator and the intake is also required. The size of this vessel is dependent on the speed or amount of power wanted from the engine.

Paul,
Sent you a reply, had trouble getting thru.
Most early gas engines were very similar,
I'm not a pro, but have picked up few items
trying to get mine to run.
talk again soon.
