Are the last two bottoms add-ons? Is it a 565 like the photo Donovan showed below? Thanks - mud

Defiantely looks like our 565. If u r trying to get it down to three bottoms the last bottom and the first bottom can be taken off.

If you want, email me your email address, I made a copy of my manual a while back that I can send you, it only has the info on the 565, as it also covers the 566 and 568.

Hey there, that is a 565. 565 plows came with a 3 or 4 bottom main frame and have a little lighter lift linkage( missing the top right linkage) like yours. The 566 came in a 4 or 5 bottom main frame and has that link in the lift for carrying extra bottoms, up to 8. The 566 did come with a brace up on top, but most I have seen only have it on the larger plows. There are quite a few 566's around here, and I hate to admit I got one of the best ones....It does look like you got a nice looking set of plows there. I agree with Donovan about the steering, it is an easy fix though, but if the plow is jumping out then the hitch bar needs flipped over..... Good luck, Marc

Thanks Marc, Now I got to search out a manual. I'm looking forward to using it. Glad to know that tip about flipping the hitch bar. Will it be hard to find the missing frog for it?

MAN..... I will look and see what I have left. I had a complete bolt on bottom, BUT brother-IN-law came in and loaded up what he thought was scrap last fall and I think he got it..... If I find a frog I will send it you... Let you know tomorrow, Marc

I looked at your picture again...Are you missing a coverboard(trashboard) bracket or a frog???? The frog holds the moldboard, shin, and point on the bottom...If it is the coverboard bracket, I have a few of them..... Marc

Do you have any pictures of the jack stand side? I may be able to snap some pictures of how ours is set up or find another picture in the manual.

Just the last bottom is a factory add on to make it a 5 bottom. I know there are other plows very similar to the 565, so it could be some other model as well, but going by the rust it looks just as old as ours behind the barn. One thing to check is how sloppy the steering is, because if it is bad like ours is, it has a hard time staying in the furrow and looks like you were using a JD plow..... Our newer 546 4 bottom has good steering and it stays put, no matter the soil conditions.

New shares and other wear parts help tremendously to keep it in the ground, but even after completely replacing everything on out 565 it still jumps out. I plan to rebush the steering linkage eventually to help this situation.
