I bought a 1949 8N from a guy who converted it from a 6volt. His conversion was poor at best. I am trying to find what he did wrong, but can't find a diagram to go by. Can anybody help me please!!!!!

If you want the wire diagram that comes with a specific conversion kit, you may want to inform us what kit you have.

In any case.. it shouldn't matter as long as it is a delco 10-SI type alternator.

While there are a few variations on how to do the field isolation.. the rest of it is pretty much the same..

Not that I know of.. unless there is a sticker on it.

That's why I said that if you wanted a SPECIFIC diagram for that KIT.. we'd need to know the kit.. since you DO NOT know what kit it is.. that's why we sent you to the generic diagrams that SHOULD help, unless the alternator is not a delco 10/12 SI type.

etc.

We are not there to look at your system and make that determination.. you will actually have to put your hands on it and look it over to make that determination.

post back if you need help with the diagrams.

The second article by Chris Britton, aka Soundguy, will give you some options for re-doing it correctly.
