12 volt coil question

Guys,

I'm looking for an internally resisted 12V coil to use with my 12V conversion. I don't wanna mess 'round with a seperate coil and resistor since they do make 12v internally resisted coils. Any recommendations? I've looked at the Accel SuperStock coils (42,000v max) but think this may be a bit overkill. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I have to agree with Bob and Dell.

The napa IC14SB is a true 12v coil, and costs about 15$.. it does not conatian an internal restive element.. rather the primary winding is sufficient length and gauge to make the correct primary resistance for a 12v application..

Listen to Dell. There's no need for a high voltage coil on this slow-speed, low compression engine. You won't gain anything with the "HOT" coil, and point life will be shortened (due to higher primary current), and the high secondary voltage will just encourage sparking to ground at the wimpy distributor cap or spark plug wires.

Brian..... ..this has been asked and answered many times, you might want to consider checking the "archives" at the top of the great N-Board.

Howsomevers..... .for you personally, we recommend the NAPA IC-14SB 12-volt coil. It is a real 12-volt coil that uses NO RESISTORS. (inside or outside) $15 (cheap) Use the standard 0.025" sparkie gap; use the standard points gap = 0.025". Use the standard ignition timing 4degBTDC. Simple, eh?..... .respectfully, Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
