I had the same happen to mine. I got an aftermarket plunger and spring. Put it in and the pressure went past 80 lbs and buried the needle on the gauge. I quickly turned the engine off (I felt kind of like what someone posted on here a week or so ago "Take cover...she's gonna blow!") and asked these folks about it. I thought maybe the gauge was bad. Come to find out it was just the aftermarket spring. The one I got was stiffer than the original. That was all that was wrong.

I would hope that the relief spring wuz a OEM CNH spring, their izz quite a difference between the CNH spring and a aftermarket spose to be Just as original spring BTDT. The CNH spring izz rite much a softer spring compared to the OEM CNH real deal spring. Actually I would take a worn out spring over the aftermarket just as original spring. Fer sum reason the OEM spring had a dampening effect ( remember I said it has a much softer fell to it when compressed) so that it shows a smooth oil pressure and the aftermarket sorta slams the deal shut and makes the manual gauge pulsate. The OEM spring I kin compress it twig 2 fingers and the aftermarket one I kin not. I have been threw this crap and ended up wif a old worn out spring. But I did verify the O/P wif a manual gauge.
