I'm switching my 2N to 12V and I do not understand how to re-wire the starter switch and starter. The diagram that I have shows hooking the battery to the starter switch post. If I do this won't I by pass the switch since the starter is on the same post? Also, I did disconnect the +ground. Should I ground the neg. battery terminal to what was the +ground location?

Try this but don't turn on the key. Put a 12 volt battery in the box and hook it up. Hit the starter button. What does it do, yep turns the engine over with no problem. When going to 12 volts you do need to add a resistor to keep from fring the coil and if going with an alternator a light or doide so you can tunr it off but thats it. Starter and solinods don't care how many volts you use.

NO NEED to rewire the starter switch and starter.

Neither cares about which polarity the battery is hooked up.

Simply swap the cables at the battery.
