i did some research on that and found that the kit you can buy right here on YT is the cheapest one. 12v conversion was the best thing i've done to my 8n, she fires right up and i don't have to deal with the 6v system anymore.
for the most part it bolted right on, except i did have to do some work on the bracket that bolts to the head. the way it was designed it would not bolt on without removing the wiring tube. i didn't want to do that. if you want i could post a picture of what i did.

Tweeter..... ....I ain't gonna do work that you can do yer-self. Use a "search engine" like yahoo, google, askjevees. You found this great N-Board, you can find MANY ONLINE retailers of 12v conversion kits the sameway.

As a sidenote; Yesterdays Tractors, sponsors of this grea N-Board, sells 12v conversion kits. Click on the "Market-Place" or banner at the top of this page where it sez "12v kits". Its good to support yer sponsors. (they're price competitive)..... ...respectfully, Dell a 12v advocate for the right reasons

That said, I haven't found the right reason to convert my eazy starting 6v 8N, and I know how to do it right, the first time. Infact, I know 8-ways to do it, and they all work.

Why pay the ripoff price for the kit? Do it yourself with $25 10SI alternator and a few feet of wire. Make your own little ole bracket or even if you have to have it made... cheap, cheap compared to the holdup price of the kits.

uh . . . Tom..... ...NOT EVERYONE is mechanically handy like you seem to be. And there are alotta electrically challenged that seem to think that a 12v conversion is the thing to do but they don't haffa clue. At least "kits" have done their thinking for them, but even then many have problems reading and following the instructions..... ....respectfully, Dell a 12v advocate for the right reasons
