Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a Ford 8N with a front mount distributer? I have the maintenance manual, but it only shows one with a 6 volt system. It does not show the one that has been converted to 12 volt with an alternater.

I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thank You.

Tom,

Here is the wiring diagram I created after I converted my 48 8N to 12 volts. In this diagram I use a 3 wire alternator and a 6 volt coil.

As Dell says, there are so many different ways to convert to 12 volts. It depends on what alternator and coil you use. It depends on whether you use an auto type ignition switch with an acc post or an idiot/marker light. There are just so many variables.

I hope this helps you,
Danny

Tom..... ...why do you seem surprized that a 1948 8N manual would NOT HAVE a diagram for a 12 volt conversion? I know at least 6 different ways to convert to 12 volts and they all work, the first time.

Maybe iff'n you'd share yer problems, we'd beable to talk you thru them..... ....Respectfully, Dell a 12 volt advocate for the right reasons
