Installing a 12 volt conversion kit on a new to me 1941? 9N. Current system has a "cut out relay" or regulator mounted near the base of the steering column. Diagram for new system does not show this part. Do I need it or do I run directly to the ammeter. Rather new at this but having fun tinkering. Have been reading up on information offered on this site and have learned a great deal already. Thanks for your help.

Your 12 volt alternator is internally regulated and will not use the cutout. Take it off and forget it. Follow the wiring schematics to a "T" that came with the kit and you should be OK.
