For anyone that might be interested, the New Holland part number for the front mount 12 volt coil is 9N12024-12V about 32 bucks. With me being "electrically challenged",I'm gonna see if I can dig thru about 200 pages of archived Dell posts and figure out how to hook this think up. Saying my wiring is butchered would be a compliment.

I don't think that coil is a New Holland, I think it's a Woods/Tisco and you can get it at most any tractor store, by the exact same part number. It still requires a resistor, so just add a 8NE10306 to your existing dash mount resistor and continue to use your six volt coil, all will be well and it will run fine. Mine has run that way since the spring of 2003, and since sold to a buddy that still uses it

That is how mine has been since about 1990,but I figger if I'm gonna have a 12v battery and a chebbie alternator, might as well get more than 3.5 volts to the points.
