This is old Skeeter from Coffeyville, Ks home of Funk Mfg. Co (Funk 8N's)and it's been a few years since I have posted, but I read the posts about every day. The "Genesee Products" in Owasso, Ok has just came out with the "new" front mount electronic ignition system. A inductory price of $152.00.That includes a remote mount canistor coil with 12 volt negative ground. I want to go with the 12 volt conversion on my 1949 8N. The question is, what resistor or what ever will I need to make the completion?

Hello Dell;
How is everything out in the State of Washington?
I was out your way this past July to vist Bremerton (USS Constellation(aircraft carrier)when she was put into mothballs.. I was stationed on her during the Vietnam war, also to vist some old Navy buddies from the Korea and 'Nam wars.

Yes I still have the '49 8N. Still use it to pull floats in parades. Only do about five the past couple years, down from the twelve I use to do. Just about every parade someone wants to buy the 8N. Been offered as high as $5.000.00 for the Red Belly.. Just cannot seem to turn the 8N loose. It still has the original parts, except the s.plugs and fan belt, and tires. Had to remove the original tires couple years ago due to old rubber rot.

I still visit Joe Funk (one of the Funk bros.)
about twice a month. He lives in a nursing home about a block from me.. Still talks about the Ford Funk conversion they did.

I see we have some new members here on the forum. That means the 9N, 2N, and 8N's still have that desire..

Thanks for the reply to by question.. I'm considering going to 12 volt convert, and with the new Electronic Ignition..
