We got one at the farm show earlier this year.

My father in-law naturally approached the older fellow (matching hair color) and asked to purchase one. After they pulled it out, the guy says "would you like for me to sign it?" Father in-law says "and you would be...?"

My son has his favorite 8n pedal tractor signed by Joseph Ertyl. The story is about as neat as the signed tractor. Unfortunately my son isn't a collector, he's an avid operator.

I'm wanting to buy a pedal tractor for my kids, they are 4 and 2.
I think the Red belly is as close as I will get to my 1964 2000. I also have a 60' MF-35.

Anyway, this sounds crazy, but I want to take the gearing from a 10 speed bike and adapt it to the Pedal tractor so it is easier to pedal and can pull a wagon load of toys.

Any of "yall"attempted this? Thanks for any help!

I got one direct from the manufacture for $195.00 + $12.00 shipping.
I am sitting here looking at an ORDER FORM to order them from;

Scale Models
301 5th St. NW
PO Box 327
Dyersville, IA 52040
Ph (563) 875-2436

I hate having people sell NEW stuff on ebay!!
Hope tbone (a ford board guy) gets it for the $180 starting bid. Serve the seller right. I don't think they were sold ONLY at the Farm Progress Show - will check mine this weekend for the FPS lable. From the sales flyer I am looking at the show is just when they were released. It would NOT make sense for the company to put all the effort into the tooling required JUST to sell them the three days of the show.

MY (irate!) $0.02
Larry

ps. Looked at flyer closer. it says," Order Deadline: March 31,2002"
That is in the middle of the page that at the top says, "2001 Farm Progress Show Collectibles"

GET'EM NOW for those GRANDKIDS [present and hoped for :-)]

I bought mine from him. It cost $115 including shiping. The Farm progress badge is cast into the metal. I don't know if the later ones are.

Dave,

I found this posting and I was wondering how well built those 8n pedal tractors are. My son wants one and I can't decide between an Ertl pedal tractor or the 8n one, keep in mind he is going to play with it. Whats your opinion on the 8n pedal tractor and how well built is it?

Thanks

You could also fit it in the back of an (gasp!) El Camino with ladder racks!
