I have recently purchased a MF TO 35 (obviously used). The unloaded hydraulics will raise and lower just fine. With a 3 point disk connected the hydraulics will not raise all the way up. and the longer the tractor runs the less lift the hydraulics havve.

I also have manuals that state there is a hydraulic filter on the pump in the differential case. However my local dealer, in their manuals and experience there is no such filter on the pump. I have no opend the tractor up to find out.

Can some one confirm the hydraulic filter?

Any advice on the hydraulic lift is appreciated?

Thank you
Pete

my to-35 lift system was tired, worked properly, but would not lift the front of tractor off ground anymore.

I added one qt. of Lucas oil stablizer to trans/hyd system and after a while, working tractor and letting the oil mix, the lift now works great. Lift will pull front of tractor off ground like a little boy dog. Lucas works great in older tired engines, so I figured it might help a older tired hyd pump, so far so good.

Be sure the oil in your trans/hyd system is in good shape. May need to be changed, may have water in it, if you just bought the tractor, who knows what type oil someone else may have put it the tractor. Having the correct oil in hyd system is very important to proper operation.

Good luck and stay safe.

A leaking culinder is the most common cause of the the problem you are observing. Open up the side access panel where the dip stick is and start the engine and make sure that the pump is in engaged.( I"m not sure whether the TO-35 has live hydraulics.) Move the control lever to the raise position and observe the area around the cylinder with a flashlight.(UNDER NO CIRCUNSTANCES PLACE YOUR HAND IN THE HYDRAULIC COMPARTMENT WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING!)Anything more than a few drops is a leak.
Another possibility is a partially stuck open relief valve. Look down toward the pump for an area of high turbulence and noise.

The TO35 was not originally fitted with a filter, but it could be added on,or the MF 35 pump could have been installed. There is a lot of possibillities on the hyd. problem. Could be caused by pump problems, fluid leaking by the piston rings in the cylinder or the o'rings on the stand pipe. "Retired"

I ALSO HAVE A MF 35 DULUXE.
I JUST ADDED A NEW VALVE SO I COULD USE HYDRAULICS FOR ATTACHED IMPLEMENTS. PROBLEM, I HAVE TO TURN VALVE EACH TIME I MOVE AN IMPLEMENT. IT WILL ONLY DO ONE THING AT A TIME. CAN THIS BE MODIFIED TO BE MULTIFUNCTIONAL?

THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE
TD
