I have had a distributor for my MF 135 w/Continential 4 cylinder engine rebuilt 3 times, each time I get it back and spin gear by hand I can hear a clicking noise in it. Install on tractor get it timmed and start tractor clicking noise becomes louder, runs for approx. 1.5 hours and distributor slings the weights inside. Could this just be from poor rebuild or is my cam contributing to this? All help appreciated

A distributor is pretty hard to rebuild wrong! You "ve gathered quite a bit of data that should tell you that something else is wrong.

I suspect the thrust plate on the cam is worn and allowing the camshaft to move forward. That"s causing your distributor shaft to move upward and damaging the distributor.
