By the time I saw your post, it slipped to page 2. Did you get my write up on fixing the CAV pump leaking around the top cover and/or the throttle shaft and shut down shaft? Tom

Thanks for the info TomTex. They both have CAV pumps. But I don't see any screws or bolts on top of the lid as you call it. There is an inspection cover on the side of the pump. It almost looks like the upper part of the pump with the shut off and throttle shafts is held on internally somehow.

Dan,

Just got the pump on our 2745 rebuilt. It has the original CAV pump. Pressures were just below spec causing some hard grinding starts. I was amazed on how easy it was to find complete pump kits for these. They claim the pump was very popular in its day and parts are not a problem at this time. Aparently they used this same pump on marine applications as well. Should have the tractor back this evening. One would have thought it should last more than 25 years. ha

Thats good to hear Dave. The CAV on my 2745 still works good, but it has a leak on the excess fuel lever shaft. Its good to know parts are available. By the way, your 2805 is the nicest one I've seen!
