Just put a brand new release bearing on my mf40, and boy it seems really stiff. Smooth, but really stiff. I got it directly from Massey too.

My question is, are they usually pretty stiff coming from the factory?
I guess it will wear in. but just curious

Hello John,
New bearings certainly will not be free to spin. Check that you have it fitted squarely on the carrier. A bit stiff to turn is Ok as long as there is no obvious feeling of roughness there.
