I just purchase a 1957 Massey Ferguson F40 and one rear tire (it has 12.4/11-38 tires with six power adjust clamps on the rims) was low so I attempted to put air in it but the valve stem was so corroded that I couldn't get air into it(has been filled with liquid).I attempted to take the valve core out of it but it came apart around the outside threads and it appears to have some sort of brass sleeve that goes into it with an O ring around it. I have not seen a valve stem like this before and need to replace it..Can anyone help? Need part number if possible and any guidance would be much appreciated..

Common "tractor tube". You can get stems at Tractor Supply among other places. The inner portion of the stem is removable to allow fluid to be pumped in or out faster than pumping through regular schraeder valve. New rear tractor tubes still have those type stems.

I attempted to put a new stem in it but the old stem appears that it may have broken off inside and the new one bottoms out before the threads engage on the outside. Can I just drill it out get rid of the old one? Can the inside of the valve be damaged by doing so? Thanks to everyone for the help. This forum is great!!!!! !!!!

These are known as "old style" valve stems. Readily available @ Gemplers or M.E.Miller tire. Try your local ag tire dlr, might get lucky ..... .
