Hard to get lost on Young's hill road. Yes to IPM signed up for 8 FORDS and some att. RE: Stone house restoration. We did our stone house in 1977 and are doing it again now. Re-doing pine floors, baths, kitchen and FP are all in the dump. New kitchen is built but not installed. Hope to be finished by thanksgiving. BURT

Great website, Burt. Love the house. Ours looks more like the gamekeeper's cottage by comparison. Mind you, the brick "granny suite" on the eastern end stops the wind o.k.

We've rebuilt from the stone and timbers, even replacing the ceiling joists, so it has taken a long time.

I located the tractor's owner. Unfortunately he sold the 135 two days ago to a collector in Athens, Ontario.

Bob told me that he bought the 135 new, and now doesn't have anything for it to do. His neighbour, the guy who gave me the lead to allow me to find the right place, expressed concern about the original tires. This led to his insisting that $5500 was the absolute top price the tractor should bring. He didn't know it was already sold.

The tractor is equipped with a cab and side curtains. Bob included a sickle bar mower and a plough, and collected $6500. CDN from the buyer. He figures the tractor realized $6200. in value.

His wife showed me a snapshot of Bob negotiating with an earlier buyer. It looked like a very nice tractor (what I could see of it behind the two guys negotiating) with slightly faded paint but perfect tin.

I hope this helps. It made for an interesting evening expedition and a chance to renew acquaintance with quite a lovely couple.

I have been collecting Fords, but like Fergusons and MF. Now have the MH 135, a MH 50 high crop, a MF 50, a TEA20 and a MH Pony. It's a start.

Sorry I didn't intend to send you on a wild goose chase. I remember when Bob bought it new, we have been discussing this tractor for 6 or 7 yrs. I brought it home yesterday. my wife took that picture of Bob and I last year. I was just fishing for inside info. The tractor only has 1300 org. hrs. Thanks for your reply. Ah, so you're the buyer! If your wife still has that photo you really should let us see it on this board. It's a great character shot of Bob.

Look me up on Young's Hill in Forfar some time when you're traveling through. I'm into the third year of a stone-house restoration, but you can meet my homely but well-used MF35 and the MH30. Are you bringing any tractors to Antiques Display at IPM 2007 in September?
