I am looking for some help with our 1956 MH 333. It has a tricycle front end and factory power steering. When you drive it down the road the front end shimmies. This past winter I removed the front end and found that the coupling between the up right shaft and the steering box has about 1/16 to 1/8 play. We tried to find replacement parts but had no luck. With out the tires on and the front end jacked up any time you moved the output shaft in the gearbox the input shaft moved also. I don't think there is any play in the gearbox. Any ideas of a way to tighten the coupling on the gear box and still be able to get it apart if I need?
I also have one out side rear axle seal leaking. Do you know how the hub comes off those axles? It has a 2 or a 2.5 fine thread nut on the out side and I see a hex key on the inside but that is about all I see. I have it all painted up and need to know how to remove it with the least destruction to the paint. Any help I would surly appreciate.

Hello,
Roy is correct in that!!! Unfortunately Massey Harris and the tricycle design is not something that I am familiar with as my experience revolves around UK, European and stretching to similar MF's in the southern hemisphere. There are overlaps with North American MF's but that is where it ends ...sadly.
As a general answer there may be adjustment in the steering box that you adjust to a 'high point' with the wheels straight ahead. Have an assistant turn the steering wheel back and forth in the play and look for wear anywhere in the system.
Good luck

I hope David can help you with your problem but MH 333s are probably as rare as rocking horse manure here in UK.
