Diesel Fuel Lift Pump leak

Just noticed my 165 Diesel has a slight external fuel leak on lift pump at side near the lever. I can't figure out exactly where it's leaking, but it's not from pump to engine seal or the 2 bolts. Should I replace the lift pump now or keep it going until it gets to be a problem? Any tricks to replacing the lift pump, such as special gaskets or fittings on the fuel lines? The fuel filters are new.

Hello Sometimes when a pump is rebuilt it is possible to overtighten one or more of the cover screws. This can crack the cover and give you a small leak. Have you checked the diaphragm screws. The diaphragms do perish and can develop a leak.
It is not necessary to replace the pump. If you have basic tools the pump can be overhauled with an AC or other kit. Please come back if you need any more help.

David,
Can you get repair kits for AC lift pumps over there? I've got an old 1100 and when I asked my local dealer for a price on a kit it was about the same as a new pump.

I wonder what it would cost to get a kit sent over here to Dallas Tx?
