I have an 1150 Massey V-8 Tractor that is getting excessive amounts of diesel fuel into the crankcase. It does run but smokes badly (White smoke). I have replaced the lift pump but it did not cure the problem. I found a small, piece of plastic in the oil pan, and I wonder if this is the problem and where did it come from. I went through the injectors, but found no problem. Any HELP would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think the 1150 has big inline bosch grease pump. In your situation I would guess you either have diesel"wash" coming down the side of the cylindrs from excessive cold ideling or bad injectors. Or you have a bad seal on the injection pump drivshaft causing fuel to run directly into the crankcase.

Please refresh my memory: Do you have CAV inline pump or a CAV rotary pump? Somehow I remember seeing both on the V-8 Perkins. Now the white smoke: You need to find which cylinder(s) it is comming from. Easy way remove the exhaust manifold from each side and see where the smoke it; Then get back with us. J.

Can't say for sure on this tractor but a lot of diesel injector pumps have seals in them that go bad and will leak diesel fuel into the pan, and if they do then you will have BIG problems if you keep running it. I had an Allis XT190 that had that problem and it caused the engine to lock up so thats why I warned you about the big problem. Don't run it till you find out where its comeing from or you could lock it up big time. I got lucky and turpentine got it loose but I have seen some where the only fix was a rebuild.
