Back in early January, I bought a 1971 Massey Ferguson 150. It was in decent condition, but like so many other 35 year old tractors, it had a few problems.

1st, the 3 point hitch would barely lift itself, muchless anything heavy.

2nd, the throttle would drift down to almost idle from full throttle in a few minutes of use. I had to keep one hand on the throttle lever while working it.

3rd, it had the standard MF "oil dripping from the weep hole" problem. (rear oil pan gasket leaking)

If I would have sent it to the friendly neighborhood Massey dealer for repair, my wallet would be a might bit thinner, as well as my wife would have had a fit.

Enter Big Dean Austin.

He walked me through the repairs. He did so in laymans terms. I'm no mechanic, but now I have the satisfaction of knowing I fixed it myself. A couple hours ago, I finished bolting the oil pan back in place. Not the first sign of a leak! Throttle is fixed without buying the first part. 3 point hitch will now lift anything I hook it to.

One more fine Massey lives to plow another field!

Big Dean, YOU DA MAN!

I sure hope you feel as good about helping people as we do getting the help.

Thanks again.

About 4-5 years ago I purchased a MF65 that needed some work..... I met Big Dean through this website, he has been an absolute god send every since! Together we've rebuilt the engine, front suspension, rear axle & brakes, part of the transmission, steering gear, and a host of other small items. He's been there for me every time without ever once asking for pay. Though I've never met him in person I consider him to be a good friend; he's a household name around here. I look forward to the day when I can meet him in person, shake his hand and thank him properly. I wish more people were like him.
Ken

Thanks guys for all the great complements I want you and everyone else I have help through the past 8 years on here to know they are mighty welcome. I wish my late Wife could see this when I first started doing this I did not even know how to turn on a computer. She had worked with computers for over 20 years. She could not stand to see of the yeas of experience I had on the Massey Ferguson tractors go to waste when my health forced me to have to retire. She set me down at the computer and show me how to use it and said now start helping people repair their tractor. The web site was also her idea she was a big help in me getting where I am today with what I do on here, other web sites and through email. It really makes me feel good to know I have helped so many people and it has been nice meeting so many from all over the wordl. Big Dean

The true worth of a man is his desire to help his fellow man. "Big Dean" is always out there watching over all us, always willing to help and he does it so often. I know I read everyone of his post no matter what tractor he is talking about. As always "Thanks Big Dean". Hope the Ford boys have someone looking over them.....

I bought his CD, but prior to when it was available, Big Dean posted instructions on how to unlock my transmission, and even though I am usually careful when shifting it has happened twice since. Thanks to him, I have saved at the least, a lot of time and at the most, a lot of money. C. T.
