I have a MF. Model 1, Serial Number 2223 PHD. Looks like it uses a 2 9/16" auger. Anyone know the age of this unit and confirm that any auger fitting on that shaft size will work. I heard this unit originally sold with up to an 18" auger. Thanks.

The original parts book came out 6/65. At that
time they had 6"-9" and 12" augers. A l975
update shows 12" and 18" augers available. We
sold a number of these-the first in '67. The
s/n was approx 5000 by then so yours is an early one. Incidently these were made by
Danuser Co., Fulton, Il. My book doesn't tell
me what size shaft or Brg. size. The lower Brg
p/n is 831488M1. An auto parts has lots of Brg
info and maybe would have the dimension. That
would give you the size. Chuck
