I was talking to folks a while back who commented on durability of engines. We compared the Moline U, Massey 44, Oliver 88, Farmall M, Deere A, Case DC, etc. I was told that the Moline U and Massey 44 were excellent on PTO and belt work. How good was the 44 engine? I owned one once and it was a good lugger. I collect MM and admire that quality.

The H-260 continental and the H-277 were very reliable. My father had a MH-44 with the H-260 in it.It worked very well for him when he was farming. He used it for just about every job on the farm from running the saw-mill to all to field work.We had a 102-junior for the light work. This is just my opinion but I think any engine will give a person good use for a long time if it is well maintained.
