Difference MF35 and MF50 engines

Got a question that I can"t seem to find out quick enough online...so, here it is: What engine did the 35 and the 50 have in them? We"re talking about the Continental Z series engine...and also what is the main differences in the two tractors? Fred OH

Hi Fred The MF35 and the MF50 both use the Z134 Continental engine. About the only difference in the two tractors is the size and steering. The MF50 sets up higher than the MF35. They both have 33 PTO HP. There is two MF50 models one is a standard clearance and one is a high clearance. Hope this helps

Similar question. Ive got a MF 50 diesel, I think made in 64. My brother has a 135 diesel. What are the differences? Thanks Lou

Hi Lou The MF50 had two different Perkins diesel engines used in them. the early one had the A3-152 regular injection engine in them I don't remember exactly when they made the change to the direct injection engine but it was about 1962 or 63. The later ones used the AD3-152 direct injection system on them. The MF135 also used the AD3-152 engines in them the MF135 is more or less a later version of the MF35 with some options that were not available on the MF35 and had much different sheet metal.

Thanks Big Dean, Ive always suspected they have the same engine, but have not taken the time to prove it.
