Hi, What are the differences between the 2805 and the 2800? The 2000 series tractors were plagued with problems, but supposedly, with the updates and when they went with a 4 pinion rearend, they were a good tractor. I'm currently running an 1105, an 1135 and two 1155's.

if your running the 1100 series tractors stay with them, cheap to run & very durable tractor.
the 2800-05 were the same tractor mechanically and it did not make any difference they all had problems. if you want a 2000 series stick with 2705, they were alot better tractor, with the basic same drive train.

I used to own a 2805 8 speed. Absolutly relentless power. The only difference that I know of is that the 2800's had a steel fuel tank and the 2805's had a plastic one.

I have a 77 2805 and it has a steel tank.I read they only built 26 2800 in 75 but all were recalled updated to 2805s but im pretty sure mine is not one of these.I also heard oniy 2745s had the 2 pinion diffs.

A dealer told me that there were were paid $2400.00 apiece to upgrade the 2800's----with over a hundred mods and changes to make!!!!---He stated the 2800 (original) had a different muffler placement than the 2805 (closer to the cab----also, if you need motor parts, they are usually cheaper coming out of a massey combine, than out of a tractor; plus you get the alum. oil pan!!!BIGART
