I had to replace the adjusting screw on the load control arm extension on my 4020 since the end broke off (it was that way when we got it). I now have everything back together and am ready to get it adjusted.

For reference, it is a late model (side console).

My question is which adjustment should I do first, the load control extension through the access hole on the rear of the tractor or the control valve adjustment through the side of the control valve housing? I have the tech manual that describes how to do the adjustment, but it doesn't say in which order it should be done. Does the order even matter?

Thanks for the help,

Josh in WNY

Josh,
I agree with Gerald as it's very important to do the adjustments according to the tech manual. In JD's tech manual they are in order. Are you using a JD manual or IT manual?

I have both the John Deere and the IT. I've been looking at the IT since it is the hard copy. The JD version is on CD. I'll take a look at it tonight.

Thanks,

Do them in the order they are in the shop manual.
