I'm trying to get an idea of what a gas 4020 is worth compared to a diesel down South here. Anyone have any ideas. I found one that is a low serial # gas model with a syncro transmission and water in the tires. It runs and doesnt smoke, all the hydraulics work to.

What serial number? With the price of diesel vs. gasoline and a low enough purchase price. You will do just fine. There are some past posts here on how to tune that 3020/4020 gasser for respectable fuel efficiency.

When Dad bought ours back around 1993 ? I think it was $5,500 which was about 3,000 or more less then a diesel. I haven't seen any local (Ohio) for sale since so they are kinda scarce. I have seen them advertised here and on ebay from far away seem to be $5,000 to $6,000 or even more WAY MORE if it is a side console model. We have really liked ours for short trips and cold winter start up for snow removal.
