I tried to fire up the diesel the other day on short heat. It cranks over great on the 12 volt convert but wouldnt fire. I tried turning the wheel trick to see if it made any difference. I didnt notice any variation in crank speed. The wheel seemed to turn easy then hit kinda hard like the brakes do when you pump them up. I put on the heat a bit longer and charged the batteries and fired right up real nice.

Today I noticed that my steering nob on the 3 spoke wheel isnt at 6 o clock when wheels are straight. More like 4:30. Anyone know what happened here? Is the steering wheel on splines? Did I just spin the wheel a bit under the nut or is there something relating to hydraulic in the steering.

Any info would be appreciated. John

Turn you wheels all the way in one direction, then the other, holding them at each end of their travel for several seconds. It'll re-center.

There is no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels... only hydraulic oil. So it is normal for the steering wheel to "wander" a bit due to normal leakage in the system.

Nothing to worry about, and completly normal!

Thanks Bob,

I was worried I got something important, expensive and a lot of work to fix out of whack. Feel much better now :]

John
