4020's came out in the fall of 1963 but they are listed as 1964's , I have never seen a 4020 serial## listed as a 1963 . First 4020 was ###65,000 , 1964's ended around 91,000 . The 64's , 65-91,000 diesels that is , had the big injectors like the 4010 had , differential lock was not available on the '64 models but Powershift was available from the first 4020 and on . I have a 1964 4020D Powershift ser## 84,XXX somewhere around there , also have a 3020D Powershift 1964 .

Your 4020’s serial number should look like this:

SNT213R127655R

That particular serial number is from my 4020, a ’66 model. Did you check for any clues in the “serial numbers” section of this site? Good luck.

Did you get the "stock #" off the serial number tag located on the rear of the tractor below the seat?

The 4020 had a serial number with a string of letters and numbers. Much like a automobile VIN number. It can be decoded to provide the engine type, transmission type and tractor catagory.

Do you have that number?

Well, kinda hard to figure since the 4020 started with serial # 65,000 in 1964. no idea what a temp000 # is...
I was gonna say that is a 4010 serial number but there werent any 4010 powershifts built.
You never know what you will find.
We just got a 1964 4020 in, it has LP stamped in the serial # tag but someone put the front half of a 4010 diesel on it. It is 4020 from the clutch housing back and 4010 forward...

Nope,1964.The 64 model had a longer clutch disconnect lever than the 65s and up.You can spot em a mile away.
