I have two things at work that might be related: The reverse on the powershift dosn't always engage - momentarily engaging it in forward or park, then going back to reverse helps. Also, sometimes during this process I hear a "zipping" sound from the clutch...any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

David has the right idea on our 3020 when you put in reverse we have just got in the habit of bumping the shift lever to the left after you put it in the slot for reverse if we don't we only get reverse about 1/2 the time pins and bushings would cure it I'm almost positive

Thanks for all the replies! Once I took the cowl (around the gauges) off, i was able to watch the linkage action, and...I was also able to get more left movement into the reverse slot and I saw the stroke of the levers completed!...just a pins & bushings issue.

Thanks again!

too much play in the shifting mechanism could very well be the source for this problem. adjustment may help. the noise can be the park not disengaging completely.

Could be several things including the rate of shift valve needing to be readjusted, low shift or clutch pressure, sticking shift valves and a bad or sticking accumulator among other things.

I've delt with this exact problem before and I'm trying to remember. First I would check your intake screen I've seen plugged intake screens cause powershift problems also check for proper oil good quality Hydraulic transmission fluid is a must. Id wanna know some what the presure on the inching pedal(clutch) is as well.
