My JD-401C came to a slow halt this afternoon while moving some dirt. I checked my hydraulic fluid and it was full and clean. I was able to move the bucket up and down with noticeable shudder about 3 times. ( I was trying to determine what the problem was. ) Now the tractor's hydraulics's are completely unresponsive and it's stuck in my driveway. I need help. Any suggestions?

If you're sure the pump is still turning, check the stroke control valve. If it got something stuck in it, all hydraulics will stop working.

It will not move forward or reverese and the bucket will not raise or lower.

Ok...try shifting the gear shift lever without using the clutch. If it will shift between gears without grinding then I would suspect a clutch or related parts failure. If it grinds, try removing and cleaning the relief valve assembly located just above the transmission filter (the verticle one)...its accessed from a plug on the right side of the transmission case. You can see part of it if you remove that filter and canister (the verticle one)
